Mitch began flying with his grandfather when he was 3 years old. He became a private pilot while in high school in his home town of Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors of Science in Aeronautical Technology, and Associates of Technology where he majored in professional piloting and studied air traffic control. 
Mitch began flight instructing in Boulder Colorado at Specialty Flight Training Inc while working for Sky West at Denver International as ground crew. He then instructed at Offutt Air Force Base at the Aero Club as well as with Civil Air Patrol. Mitch is the former owner of Zephyr Air Academy that he started in Nebraska but dissolved when he moved to Montana with his husband. He has also worked at Duncan Aviation and Signature Flight Support FBO's. 

Mitch has over 3200 hours of flight time and 2400 hours of flight instruction given across more than a decade of aviation teaching experience. He loves aviation and sharing the magic of flying with others.
